AFRICARE-WHICO]
The World Health
Organization definition of "health" is the foundation
for AFRICARE-WHICO's Vision, Mission and Values Statements as well as
the Lines of Business. It states:
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, social well-being
and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Vision
All AFRICARE-WHICO registered patients/communities will enjoy optimal
health. ("Optimal health" refers to maximizing an
individual's health and well-being in the context of their life
and its limitation.)
Mission
The AFRICARE-WHICO Health and Community Services will ensure that the
people of registered rural communities in Africa have access
to drug and medical services and programs enabling individuals,
families and communities to achieve optimal health.

The goals of AFRICARE-WHICO:
Offer medical education and outreach programs
Supply medical referrals
Maintain patient follow-up tracking
Provide case management
Introduce professional instruction on diagnostic procedures
and on screening /re-screening patients
Monitor / evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the
programs
Consolidate these goals into a continent-wide comprehensive
public health management plan developed with input from community
coalition
Leverage information technology and western educational
theory
Practice to transform institutions
Training individuals who can be agents for public health
awareness in poor countries of Africa and elsewhere
AFRICARE-WHICO is committed to providing educational outreach,
needs assessment, curriculum development; medical evaluation
expertise and policy framework to public health communities
worldwide, including educational institutions.
AFRICARE-WHICO will provide these services in a collaborative,
multi-disciplinary manner incorporating practical concepts and
the most advanced educational and technological development.
The approach of AFRICARE-WHICO is to enable current and future public
health professional and community leaders to solve problems
using contemporary skills.
